Parnevik to Elin: Use the driver next time

Dec. 3, 2009 1:57 pm
Gotta love Jesper Parnevik's flair for words.
The professional golfer spoke to the Golf Channel on Thursday about the "transgressions" Tiger Woods admitted to Wednesday. Parnevik and his wife, Mia, introduced Woods to his wife Elin Nordegren in 2001.
Nordegren was a nanny for the Parneviks. Woods and Nordegren married in 2004.
"I feel really sorry for Elin," Parnevik told the Golf Channel.
"I would be especially sad about it since I'm kind of -- I really feel sorry for Elin -- since me and my wife were at fault for hooking her up with him," Parnevik said. "We probably thought he was a better guy than he is. I would probably need to apologize to her and hope she uses a driver next time instead of the 3-iron."
That's in reference to Nordegren, of course, smashing in a side window of Woods' SUV outside their Florida home.
"It's a private thing of course," he said. "But when you are the guy he is, the world's best athlete, you should think more before you do stuff ... And maybe not just do it, like Nike says."
Well said, Jesper.
