On embryos as living and gender parity on boards

With all of the recent rulings that life starts at conception, why does one have to wait till the child is born for the tax deduction? With the Alabama ruling regarding IVF embryos being life, shouldn’t they be able to claim them as dependents as well? Seems as there is a conflict here.
As to changing the law regarding gender equity on boards, I agree women have come along way. However over 60% of single parent homes are headed by a woman. Example: a woman with degree from the U of I Tippie business school running a business during the day is probably not going to run for a council seat and abandon her child in the evening.
Just random thoughts — always a Freakanomics outcome, some good some bad.
