Olson lifts Jefferson to 68-52 win over Washington

CEDAR RAPIDS -- Just call it Taylor Time.
Senior point guard Taylor Olson scored 23 of his 28 points in the second half and was unstoppable down the stretch as Cedar Rapids Jefferson remained unbeaten with a 68-52 over Cedar Rapids Washington Friday night at Washington.
Olson took over offensively after Washington (0-5) cut a start-to-finish Jefferson lead to two in the fourth quarter. Despite being just 6-foot-1, he continually was able to wiggle his way inside for baskets and fouls.
“I wanted this game really bad,” he said. “Against Wash, it's a big rivalry. I wanted to take over, for sure.”
Olson and Washington's Cybryan Moa got in each other's faces at the end of the game and had to be separated by coaches. Jefferson improved to 6-0 with the victory.
David Tann scored 14 points and Jason Oney 10 for Washington.
