A heads-up for Interstate 380 commuters: Northbound I-380 traffic is down to one lane on a short stretch downtown, through 2 p.m. today.
Here's the news release from the Iowa Department of Transportation:
Bridge maintenance operations have reduced northbound Interstate 380 to one lane in Linn County between exit 19C (First Avenue West) and exit 20A (Second Street NE), according to the Iowa Department of Transportation's (DOT) District 6 maintenance office.
The left lane closure should be in place until 2 p.m. today, weather and schedules permitting.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
