Jordan Hay Inks National Letter of Intent to Upper Iowa
Upper Iowa University Head Men's Basketball Coach Brian Dolan announced today that Jordan Hay from Stanwood, Iowa and North Cedar High School has signed a National Letter of Intent to continue his academic and basketball career at Upper Iowa.
Hay, a 6-6 wing, helped lead North Cedar to the Class 2A State Tournament the last two years. This year, the Knights finished 20-5 after reaching the quarterfinals of the State Tournament. The year before, North Cedar reached the semifinals of the State Tournament thanks to a 24-3 record.
As a senior, Hay averaged 23.1 points, 9.4 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 2.6 steals per game while shooting 55.1% from the floor. North Cedar's career record holder in points, rebounds and made free throws was named an Iowa All-State First Team performer by both the Iowa Newspaper Association and Des Moines Register following his junior and senior seasons. Hay was also selected to the All-Cedar Valley Conference team four times. He was also a standout athlete in football earning two All-District nods and baseball and golf garnering two all-conference honors in both sports.
Hay joins Connor Schabel of Ankeny High School as members of the 2012 graduating class that have committed and signed an NLI to play for Upper Iowa University.
