NCAA talking about expanding 'Big Dance' (poll)

Dec. 10, 2009 10:16 pm
ESPN reported Thursday that the NCAA is contemplating expanding the NCAA men's basketball tournament and moving it away from CBS television and to cable (presumably ESPN).
There's no word on how many more teams would get into the "Big Dance." The number has been 65 since 2001.
ESPN reported the NCAA is just in preliminary discussions about the idea right now. Apparently the impetus for the talk is the $6 billion TV contract with CBS, which the NCAA can opt out of after this season.
Yes, that's $6 billion.
What do you think about expanding the tournament? Let me know.
Hey, anything to get the Iowa Hawkeyes in, eh?
Should the NCAA expand its Division I men's basketball tournament to more than 65 teams?(poll)
