Man arrested for willful injury in Iowa City

Jose Enrique Garcia-Raymundo, 22, address unknown, was arrested for two counts of willful injury causing bodily injury after he cut two individuals with a beer bottle at 12:47 a.m. Sunday morning.

Reports indicate that officers were dispatched for a fight at 171 Highway One West. Upon arrival, officers spoke with involved parties and bystanders. Officers were told that Garcia-Raymundo had begun to “get in a man's face” and later charged at him with a broken beer bottle.

The man involved in the altercation with Garcia-Raymundo was cut on the left arm by the beer bottle, and a second individual was cut as he tried to end the altercation, Iowa City Police said.

Garcia-Raymundo was being held at the Johnson County Jail on a $5,000 bond Monday morning.
