A Cedar Rapids man is accused of sneaking into a women's restroom and trying to take cell phone pictures of women using the stall next to him.
Daniel R. Krall, 23, of 225 Ripon St. SW, has been charged with invasion of privacy after the incident Feb. 27 at Nielsen Hall on the campus of Kirkwood Community College. Police said a 28-year-old woman caught Krall taking pictures, and confronted him.
Sgt. Cristy Hamblin said a search warrant was executed in the case and Krall's cell phone was recovered. She said it contained multiple pictures. A warrant was issued for Krall's arrest, and he was taken into custody March 28.
According to a criminal complaint filed in Linn County district court, Krall intentionally filmed the women "for the purpose of arousing his own sexual desire."
"The defendant admitted entering a woman's bathroom stall in a building at the Kirkwood College campus and using a cell phone to photograph women who were using the bathroom stall next to him," the complaint reads.
Hamblin said the woman who confronted Krall did not know him. Investigators have not determined if there is more than one victim in the case, she said.
"At this point, there's only one victim," Hamblin said.
