Local fans can help bring a NHL preseason game to C.R.

CEDAR RAPIDS - The Cedar Rapids Ice Arena could use some repairs and upgrades. It's 15 years old.
The Stable's main tenant is hoping those can be done with the help of a national company. Oh, and a National Hockey League preseason game is on the line, too.
Kraft is sponsoring 'Hockeyville,” a promotion in which it is asking people to write in 2,500 characters or less what makes their community 'so passionate about hockey.” The winning community will host a 2015-16 NHL preseason game that will be broadcast live on the NBC Sports Network, plus $150,000 towards upgrades of their arena.
Nominations opened January 1 and don't close for another 47 days. Fan can vote for the Ice Arena and say why by visiting https://records.nhl.com/events/hockeyville.
