Cedar Rapids police nabbed a husband and wife burglary team Sunday morning.
Police were called to an alarm at the Home Port, 624 Center Point Road NE, at 3:30 a.m. Sunday. Responding officers saw 30-year-old Jamie Page walking across the street. Officers stopped Page and found she had items taken from the Home Port.
As she was being placed in a squad car, Page yelled for “Dana” and said her husband was nearby, police said. Police said 34-year-old Dana Page then came from behind the nearby Things-n-Things.
An investigation into the break-in at Home Port showed that Jamie Page had forced her way into the bar. Inside, she took $812.93 in cash, as well as checks from the cash register. The bar's surveillance video caught footage of Page inside.
Police said Dana Page had a ratchet, pocket knife and flashlight on him. His wife was carrying a pocket knife. Both were taken into custody.
Jamie Page faces charges of third-degree burglary and possession of burglar's tools. Her husband faces charges of attempted third-degree burglary for trying to break into Things-n-Things and possession of burglar's tools.
