Jason W. Witt, 47, of Oxford, died unexpectedly on Sunday, July 21, 2024. Celebration of Life Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre, located at 2121 Bowling Street in Cedar Rapids. Friends may visit with the family after 9 a.m. on Saturday at Brosh Chapel. Please come in your favorite Hawkeye attire for Jason. Private family burial will take place at Oakland Cemetery in Solon.
Jason Wade was born on January 31, 1977, in Fort Madison. He graduated from West High in 1995. He drove a cement truck for Hawkeye Ready Mix out of Coralville. He loved the Iowa Hawkeyes, fishing, going to see live music, and was a huge 80’s music junkie. He was a fabulous “cat dad” but above all loved spending time with his family, most importantly his kids and grandson. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Jason is survived by his parents Darrell and Rebecca Burnhardt; Fiancée Christine Polton; children Emily Witt, Kaitlyn Witt, and Kyler Vice; grandson Jaxson Brown; brother Donnie (Andrea) Bergthold; sister Melissa (Patrick Gilchrist) Christ; and aunts, uncles, a niece and a nephew.
He is preceded in death by a daughter Kimberly Witt and grandson Keagan James.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
