Is Cedar Rapids RoughRiders sale near?

It kind of looks like it.
Some sort of meeting took place Friday afternoon at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena involving RoughRiders personnel and either the potential buyer of the United States Hockey League club or his representatives. The meeting lasted at least a couple of hours.
Everyone is being extremely tight-lipped about the situation, however, per orders of the United States Hockey League. The name of the potential buyer hasn't even leaked out.
We've been down this path plenty of times before, with potential sales apparently near and then falling apart. We'll see if this one actually goes through ... and if it's soon.
