Iowa City man accused of selling University Hospitals computers, keeping money

UPDATE: Police said an Iowa City man sold nearly $50,000 worth of University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics computers and pocketed the profits.
According to University of Iowa Department of Public Safety criminal complaints, 34-year-old Brian C. Manary had been selling new and used computers belonging to the UIHC and keeping the money for himself. Police said Manary began selling the computers illegally in April 2006 and continued until May 2013.
Manary, formerly a senior IT consultant at UIHC, was terminated June 29,
The total loss to the hospital is $46,158, police said.
Manary faces charges of ongoing criminal conduct, a class B felony; and first-degree theft, a class C felony.
