IATC releases all-state academic teams

The Iowa Association of Track Coaches has released its 2011 academic all-state team.
To receive the honor, athletes must be a senior, score 28 or higher on their ACT, have a GPA of 3.8 or better, and participate in the state track meet.
Area boys: Matt Backes, Elkader Central; Daniel Bonthius, Iowa City Regina; Colt Feltes, Maquoketa Valley; Justin Hochstetler, Mid-Prairie; Christopher Kambdu, Iowa City Regina; Zach Manders, Clear Creek Amana; Patrick McCaffery, Iowa City Regina; Ryan McLaughlin, Iowa City Regina; Grant Schwartz, Decorah.
Area girls: Eliza Betteridge, Decorah; Katie Carver, Cedar Rapids Prairie; Stacey Howes, Cedar Rapids Prairie; Bridget Miller, Mid-Prairie; Holly Salzbrenner, Mount Vernon-Lisbon.
