House likely to debate texting while driving bill today

House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy said plans call for the House to debate legislation this afternoon that would ban texting while driving.
McCarthy said the House will convene for floor debate at about 1 p.m. and the texting bill will be part of the afternoon block of bills.
He said the outcome of the debate is uncertain because there is no caucus position by Democrats or Republicans and the legislation has bipartisan floor leadership.
