So far, so good for the Mississippi Valley Conference at the state baseball tournament.
Top-seeded Dubuque Hempstead scored six runs in the bottom of the sixth and mercy ruled Indianola, 10-0, in a Class 4A quarterfinal Wednesday at Principal Park in Des Moines.
The Mustangs (33-3) had nine hits, two each by Josh Graves, Kyle Behnke and Chad Crabill. Winning pitcher Andrew Redman also drove in two runs.
He improved to 10-0 with a complete-game two-hitter. He walked one and struck out six.
Indianola ended its season 20-18.
