CEDAR RAPIDS – Gunshots were fired after a man busted into an apartment Monday morning in Cedar Rapids, police said.
No one was hurt in the incident at 2207 Wiley Blvd. SW. Police said a female resident and a female friend were asleep upstairs around 1:45 a.m. when they heard someone kicking in the front door, police said.
According to the police report, a man with a handgun ran up the stairs and fired several rounds at the floor in the direction of one of the women. He demanded money, but left when he didn't find any, police said.
No property was taken from the apartment, police said.
The suspect is described as a black male wearing a yellow shirt and a black bandanna. No arrests had been made Tuesday morning, but an investigation was continuing.
