A redesigned home page for TheGazette.com made its debut Tuesday, and is intended to call more attention to the most compelling and relevant content available on the Web site at any given time.
The changes are highlighted by a new "slider" feature that focuses on specific stories and features. The "slider," which rotates automatically to highlight key components, also offers greater visibility for the important work done by The Gazette's visuals staff. Site users can read the full story on any topic highlighted in the "slider" with a single mouse click.
Also as part of the changes, the Daily Conversation and Your Voice sections have been moved from the home page.
The Daily Conversation, featuring opportunities for community members to comment on key issues of the day, can now be found on the Insight page, along with editorials, letters to the editor, guest columnists and other opinion features.
Your Voice, a feature that allows users to submit news releases and other items for publishing to a wider audience, can now be found on the topical pages for key content areas, such as the Education page, the Government page and the Business380 page.
