Former Des Moines dorm director faces new charges in child porn case
Jun. 27, 2011 2:30 pm
A Des Moines dormitory director charged in a federal child pornography case is facing two additional charges.
The Des Moines Register reports that a federal grand jury has charged 27-year-old Kent Oman with two counts of receiving and possessing child pornography.
Oman was indicted in March on a single count of producing child pornography.
Federal authorities allege the 27-year-old Oman produced nude recordings of a teen he mentored through Big Brothers Big Sisters from his dorm at the AIB College of Business.
Oman will be arraigned on those two new charges next week.
Peter Berger, Oman's attorney, says Oman plans to plead guilty to possessing pictures. But Berger says Oman intends to defend himself against the production of child pornography charge unless that case is dismissed.
