Food, beverage firms seeking money

Several Eastern Iowa firms will be making their case to venture capitalists and angel investors Wednesday at the American Food Venture Forum in Des Moines.

Breads from Anna and Quadro Group in I0wa City and Nu-World Amaranth in Dyersville will get 15 minutes apiece to present their company and its products.

The forum is drawing young food and beverage ventures from across the United States. A panel screened the companies seeking financing and selected invitees.

Wednesday's forum will kick off with a panel discussion featuring ISU Economist John Lawrence and Robert Penn of Deere & Co. Ruth McDonald of ISU will be the moderator.
