Here are the finalists for this week's KCRG-TV9 Athlete of the Week.
Carter Funke
Maquoketa Valley
Football
Carter is a junior WR/DB/K. On the season, Funke led the team in receiving with 26 catches for 462 yards and 5 TDs. He also led the team in tackles with 74, along with 2 INTs. He's also their FG kicker.
Maquoketa Valley finished the season 5-4, missing out on the playoffs after losing to Bellevue in the final game 21-18. They needed a win to get in.
Two weeks ago against NE Goose Lake he had a receiving TD, a kickoff return 84 yards for a TD, and 2 INTs. Also had 8 tackles on D.
Connor Golden
Dyersville Beckman
Football
Conner is the senior QB for the 8th-ranked Blazers, who play Osage in the first round of the playoffs Wednesday night. Last week in a big 37-0 win over South Winn, Golden threw for 237 yards and 5 TDs. The victory gave them the Class 2A District 4 title.
On the season Golden has thrown for 1,522 yards and 25 TDs. Dyersville Beckman finished the regular season 8-1.
Brandon Roseberry

What a run for the Stormin' Pointers to finish up the season. After losing the first 5 games of the season, CPU rattled off 4 straight wins to finish the season 4-5 and just sneak in to the playoffs. In fact, they beat Dewitt Central 10-9 in the final game to get in. They now play Solon Wednesday night.
In that game against Dewitt Central, Brandon carried the ball 34 times for 131 yards and the game's lone TD. On the season he's rushed for 952 yards and 12 TDs.
In the final 4 games they won, here were Roseberry's numbers:
vs. Marion: 31 carries, 191 yards, 3 TDs
@ Vinton-Shellsburg: 23 carries, 166 yards, 3 TDs
vs. Anamosa: 11 carries, 83 yards, 3 TDs
vs. Dewitt Central: 31 carries, 131 yards, 1 TD
