Crews responded Monday to the scene of a crash between a minivan and a dump truck at the intersection of Hills Mill and Upper Boulder roads near Prairieburg.
Linn County Sheriff Brian Gardner said the woman driving the car died at the scene. No further information, including the identities of those involved, was available.
This crash was one of at least two fatal vehicle accidents in the area Monday afternoon; the other involved a car and a semi-trailer truck on Highway 151 in Jones County.
According to an Iowa State Patrol crash report, the car was southbound when its driver lost control. It crossed the median and was struck by a semi driven by Alan Tapke, 52, of Dyersville.
The car's driver, whose identity hadn't been released later in the evening, died at the scene. Tapke was taken by ambulance to a hospital with minor injuries.
