Dennis R. Rose, D.D.S., North Liberty, passed away at the age of 84.
Dr. Rose was born Jan. 21, 1939, in Ottumwa, Iowa, the son of Ray C. Rose and Jean A. (Roberts) Rose. He served in the Army National Guard and Army Reserves. He graduated from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 1964. After 15 years as a general dentist, he received a certificate in Periodontics from the U of I in 1981. Dr. Rose retired from private practice in 2009. He was an adjunct associate professor in the U of I College of Dentistry for many years. He was a member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Periodontics, the Iowa Dental Association, and the Johnson County Dental Association. Dennis married Vivian A Klaus in 1994. In addition to his loving wife and family, he was an avid fan of Iowa Hawkeye Sports and enjoyed fishing.
He is survived by his daughters, Christine Schaefer (Ted) of Evergreen, Colo., and Leslie Payden (Jeff) of Marion, Iowa; his 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Jean Rose; wife, Vivian Rose; son, Michael Rose; twin granddaughters, Emily and Nicole Rose; and his sisters, Phyllis Rose and Shirley McCauley.
In lieu of flowers Dennis requested donations may be made to the Parkinsons Foundation (200 SE 1st Street Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131; or www.parkinson.org in honor of his Mother.
