Dana Rauch, 73, of Toddville, died on unexpectedly May 24, 2021. Celebration of Life Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday June 1, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St., SW. Friends may visit with the family after
11 a.m. Tuesday until the
time of service at Brosh Chapel.
Dana's first marriage was blessed with two daughters Danelle and Krista. In 1977,
he married Susan Hyman. They celebrated 44 years of marriage.
Dana is survived by his wife, Susan; his daughter, Krista; son-in-law, Hershel; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters; and two brothers.
His daughter, Danelle died earlier this year.
Dana was born March 26, 1948. He graduated from Washington High School and worked at Rockwell Collins for five years following graduation. In 1970, he started working at the Cedar Rapids Fire Departmentand began taking fire science classes at Kirkwood. Like most firemen he had a second job. Employment at Smulekoffs and Area Ambulance were his second jobs. After 33 years Dana retired from the Cedar Rapids Fire Department as a Captain.
Dana's interests and passions were many and varied. He raced motocross, had his pilots license, and enjoyed all aspects of classic cars and motorcycles. He had a lifetime desire to play the guitar and was so proud to have accomplished that.
Dana will be so missed by his family and friends.
