I was hoping to take a big bite out of mapping our innovation ecosystem this week, but it turned out to be more of a nibble. That's ok. Still progress.

Earlier this week, I asked about what metrics should be included with our map. I don't want to just place companies and resources on a map, but to show how the region is growing and changing over time.

The short answer seems to be that there is no short answer, but many others are thinking about metrics, too.

Shoutout to a reader who added Jones County Economic Development, in Anamosa. Seeing that point appear on the map is a reminder of how big our region really is.

What else changed:

• IC CoLab - updated with the new Coralville location
• TechBrew - updated with newly-announced locations in Iowa City and Cedar Rapids
• Dardis Academy, a summer program for high school and college students, was added by a reader
• ECICOG, The East Central Iowa Council of Governments, provided me with some data on companies that have received their revolving loan fund (RLF) - I am working on adding these to the map.
• I threw in a few of the events I try to attend each week: 1 Million Cups and open coffee clubs.
