Clean cupboards and fresh start

I took a week off of work to get my kids ready for the start of a new school year. This meant driving both to student orientations, taking the boy to football practice and helping the girl choose the perfect first day of school outfit.
It also meant cleaning. A lot of cleaning.
Some people spring clean, I back-to-school clean. I start with the basement storage area and work my way up, tackling every room in the house. I save the kitchen for last. It's a high traffic area, so it's the messiest. It's also my favorite room in the house, so I mentally map out my changes as I sort through the linen closet, dust our bookshelves and scrub the bathrooms.
The kids were bored the day I tackled the kitchen, so I put them to work. E filed loose recipes in binders while B matched storage containers with lids. Both claimed to no longer be board when I opened up my spice cabinet, so I handled that chose on my own.
It's so pretty. I swear every time I open the cupboard, a light shines upon it and angels sing.
A clean spice cupboard
