City High concerned with Xavier actions during football game last week

Sportsmanship was a hot topic this week in the local football community following alleged questionable behavior in last Friday night's Iowa City High-Cedar Rapids Xavier game.
Officials briefly stopped action in the third quarter of City High's 52-24 win at Xavier High School, and addressed Iowa City High Coach Dan Sabers and Xavier Coach Duane Schulte about player conduct.
When asked what had happened, Sabers and City High Athletics Director D'Anne Kroemer said they were concerned with things their players told them about the conduct of some Xavier players. On the surface, there didn't appear to be an abundance of ill will between the teams, with flags being thrown for two personal-foul penalties, one on each for helmet-to-helmet contact on tackles.
"No question our guys brought up some things that were very concerning. There appeared to be some legitimacy to them," Sabers said. "Things happen in an emotional game, I understand that. But ...
"I thought our kids did an excellent job of staying focused on the game."
