LISBON -- According to KCRG-TV9, Linn County Attorney Jerry Vandersanden confirmed Tuesday that the Lisbon Police Department has submitted for consideration criminal charges in a case involving members of the Lisbon wrestling team.
Vandersanden told KCRG-TV9 he has requested additional information about the case, that Lisbon Superintendent Brad Laures called a "student behavior issue", before officially filing charges.
Lisbon canceled a double dual Dec. 22 and at least one official practice, stemming for the issue. Administrators met with members of the wrestling program, including parents, wrestlers and coaches, on Tuesday, Dec. 27. In the meeting, Laures said they discussed ethics, character and school expectations of student athletes.
