CEDAR RAPIDS -- Running back? Cornerback? Safety?
Alex Carr doesn't know for sure.
But this much is set: the University of Northern Iowa.
A two-way football star for Cedar Rapids Washington, Carr orally committed to the Panthers via telephone Monday night.
"When you know it's right, you know it's right," said Carr, who was selected as the SourceMedia Group News all-area offensive player of the year after rushing for 1,687 yards and 23 touchdowns as Washington finished 6-4.
"After being around all of their coaches and after talking to my parents, I felt like this was the right thing to do."
Carr picked UNI over Illinois State, another member of the Missouri Valley Football Conference.
"Their facility is top-of-the-line, and it's close to home," he said.
Carr said he is projected preliminarily as a cornerback, but that could change.
"They said I might play some running back, and that since I come up and hit hard, they might look at me at safety," he said.
