Carolyn Diane Moeller, 89, passed away at Hallmar Village on December 18, 2024, following a stroke.
Carolyn was born in Anamosa, Iowa on January 9, 1935, to Ralph Oliver Miller and Nellie Ruth (Ireland) Miller. After graduating from Anamosa High School, she obtained her R.N. degree from Mount Mercy Nursing College, and later her B.S.N. degree from Upper Iowa University.
Carolyn's life was devoted to helping others primarily as a Nurse and Head Nurse at Mercy Hospital, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She also served as an instructor of student nurses at Mercy and Kirkwood Community College. She served for a time as the Director of Nursing at the hospital in Oelwein and then as Assistant Administrator at Jackson County Hospital in Maquoketa, but always returned to her first love, Mercy.
Carolyn had great compassion for the sick and the hurting. She was a wonderful cook, excellent decorator, loved to read, and loved her dogs. She also served and was a devoted member of Marion Christian Church.
Survivors include her former husband Paul Moeller, their daughters Lori Kay Moeller and Kristin Lynn Moeller White, granddaughter Nikole Nell Holub and her husband Josh and son Huxley of Cedar Rapids; granddaughter Molly Leona Ehrenberger and her partner Tom Spinks of Austin, Texas; special family friends Heidi Bernet and family, and Randy and Jana Stambaugh; and her devoted dog, Aroon. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; special aunt and uncle, Nadine and Jack Fahey; and her longtime companion, Phil Stambaugh.
Carolyn will be interred at Antioch Cemetery, Jones County, Iowa. Our thanks to the Hallmar Village staff for their care, and special thanks to Celebrate Life Iowa for their support.
A memorial service will be held at Marion Christian Church at a later date.
