Camp Dodge quiet upon news of Bin Laden's death

JOHNSTON, Iowa - There was no discernible celebration at Camp Dodge in Johnston Sunday night, at least any celebration that could be seen from the base's main gate following the announcement that Osama bin Laden had been killed.
News media had been called to the base three times last month for the official death announcements of Iowa National Guardsmen who were killed in Afghanistan during the spring offensive.
But outsiders could only speculate how Sunday night's announcement of the death of Osama bin Laden was received inside the base. From the street, the base looked dark and the night was quiet.
