Bonnie Tichy, 76, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Celebration of Life service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 2, 2024, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, 2121 Bowling Street SW. Inurnment will be in Czech National Cemetery columbarium.
Bonnie was born on March 16, 1948, in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of William and Janet (Bellville) Ackley. She graduated from Bedford High School, Class of 1966. Bonnie was united in marriage to Charles Tichy on September 2, 1967, at the First Baptist Church in Bedford, Ohio. She worked for many years for the Cedar Rapids School System in food service. Bonnie enjoyed crafts, crocheting, plastic canvas and coloring, as well as spending time with her family and enjoying weekly dinners.
Bonnie is survived by her husband Charles; her son Alan (Lydia) Tichy; her grandchildren Gage and Greta; her siblings Bruce (Vicky) Ackley, Becky Dekker, Beverly Locktish; sister-in-law Suann Tichy and brother-in-law Richard (Pam) Tichy; as well as her nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Janet Tichy, brother-in-law Ronald Locktish and Kees Dekker, David Tichy and Steven (Kathy) Tichy.
