Arlington man will be arraigned later this month

Ricky Putman, 42, of Arlington, accused of sexually assaulting a toddler, will be arraigned 9 a.m. June 21 in Fayette County District Court.
Putman, charged with first-degree sexual abuse, was a friend of the child's family and the assault took place in her home, according to police. The girl's parents reported the incident to police May 23.
The child was taken to Mercy Hospital in Oelwein and then transferred to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City for treatment.
Putman faces a mandatory life sentence if convicted.
