An uneventful Friday for area 3A boys

DES MOINES -- It was a long, wet morning session at the state track meet.

For area Class 3A boys' teams, it was not a terribly productive session.

Solon's boys got a fourth-place finish in the 800-meter relay and a fifth-place from Nick Day in the long jump, and that was as good as it got.

Glenwood is the team leader through 10 events, with 41 points. The Rams are followed by Sioux City Heelan (38) and DeWitt Central (36).

Zach Manders of Clear Creek Amana was fifth in the 400 hurdles. Jake Humpal of Decorah was fifth in the shot put.

Two weather delays put the meet back two hours.
