Ames' Barnes finalist for national player of year

North Carolina recruit Harrison Barnes of Ames is one of 10 finalists for the Naismith prep boys' basketball player of the year award, it was announced Monday.
The Atlanta Tipoff Club sponsors the award, whose winner will be announced after the season. The list of finalists will be trimmed to five in February.
