All-MVC girls tennis teams

The Mississippi Valley Conference released its 2011 all-conference girls tennis selections Tuesday.

Defending state doubles champions Lola White-Baer and Lilli Oetting were on the MVC Valley first-team along with teammate Olivia Lofgren. White-Baer was named Athlete of the Year. Cedar Rapids Xavier's Lisa Cowden and Cedar Rapids Jefferson's Anna Striegel were also first-team picks in the Valley Division. West Coach Kay DiLeo was named Valley Coach of the Year.

Cedar Rapids Washington placed two players on the first team in the Mississippi Division. Katie Hammond, who also plays soccer for the Warriors, and Kristin King earned first-team honors. Cedar Rapids Kennedy's Jackie Pedersen and Linn-Mar's Katie Rakers made the first team as did two players from Dubuque Wahlert, including Golden Eagles' Mississippi Division Athlete of the Year  Sarah Dalton. Dan Reyner, who guided Washington to the state team tennis semifinals this season, was Mississippi Division Coach of the Year.
