IOWA CITY -- “Chat” is back. Teagan, too.
Meanwhile, Emely Rodriguez’s availability for the Iowa women’s basketball team remains a mystery.
“She’s still day-to-day,” Coach Jan Jensen said during media availability Tuesday morning.
In a follow-up question, Jensen was asked if Rodriguez was still a member of the team.
“She is as of right now, yeah,” she said.
A sophomore transfer from Central Florida, Rodriguez has missed the last five games. Her last action was against Miami (Fla.) on Nov. 22.
In her six games of action with the Hawkeyes, Rodriguez is averaging 7.2 points per game.
A 6-foot wing from the Dominican Republic, Rodriguez averaged 11.9 points and 5.3 rebounds per contest at UCF last season.
Chit-Chat Wright missed three games after sustaining am upper-body injury against Baylor on Nov. 20. She has played in the last three games, scoring a career-high 21 points in the Iowa State loss last Wednesday.
The sophomore transfer from Atlanta said her injury “was a little of everything. A lot of whiplash. It was hard to turn and get full range of motion, which I need.”
Sophomore Teagan Mallegni returned to action Saturday, and scored five points in the Hawkeyes’ 102-68 win over Lindenwood.
The 11th-ranked Hawkeyes (10-1) face No. 1 Connecticut (10-0) at noon (CT) at the Barclays Center, Brooklyn, N.Y.
