13-year-old commits to play football at Tennessee

I've got a nephew who loves playing baseball. He's going to be 10 years old, and I'm thinking about having him commit to a college.
Don't laugh. It's getting that absurd in recruiting circles. Evan Berry, who hasn't even played a down of high-school football, yet, has committed to play college football in five years for the University of Tennessee.
Berry, from Creekside High School in Georgia, has an older brother, Eric, who is a standout safety for the Volunteers. The boys' father also played for UT.
"Yes, I committed to Tennessee," Evan said. "It's the only college I know right now and it seems the best for me. My dad went there and my brother is there now. I know I can do the same things there. I have a real friendly relationship with the coaches there. I know I don't know them too well but I know I will have plenty of time to get to know them."
So what do you think? Is college recruiting getting way out of hand with these early commitments?
