After 17 years, Camp Euforia will come to an end after one final festival this summer.
The music festival will return for the final time July 16 to 19 at Jerry's Farm, 5335 Utah Ave. SE, Lone Tree, south of Iowa City.
The band Euforquestra started the festival in 2004 as a 'Fan Appreciation Party” at local farmer Jerry Hotz's farm. It has since grown exponentially into a large annual music festival with national touring acts and local and regional bands alike. Euforquestra has since moved from Iowa City to Colorado but returns each year for the event.
Camp Euforia is produced by Cornfed Productions, Eufórquestra and Hive Event Consulting.
In a media release, festival organizers Eric Quiner, Mike Tallman, Austin Zaletel and Matt Wright expressed thanks for the years of support from festival attendees:
'A whirlwind of emotions surrounds us as we announce the final year for Camp Euforia. Seventeen years ago, not one of us knew of the magic that would become of Jerry's Farm.”
They wrote they felt it was time to 'focus our creative energy on other passions and pursuits.”
'Planning and producing a festival of this scale is no easy feat. It is a monumental effort that we've been able to accomplish each year with an unbelievable support system and volunteers. We've always set our standards high and put a ton of energy into producing a festival that we can all be proud of. With that in mind, we've made the difficult decision to take a step back.”
The lineup for the final festival has not yet been announced, but tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Feb. 14. Early bird pricing is $90 for a two-day festival pass and $110 with a Thursday night pre-party. Ticket prices will increase later. RV parking passes are $70. Children 14 and under are free with a paid adult. More details and tickets are available at campeuforia.com.
