John found a crazy little woman in Kansas City, MO, Sandy, and married her there on April 22, 1961.

They have two children: Jay of Cedar Rapids, and Scott (Martha) of Dallas, TX, and two grandchildren: Maddi and Clayton.

They plan a celebration this summer with a family reunion.
