Bernie and Claire Russell are happily celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary.

The couple married on June 9, 1941 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Iowa City, IA.

They have eight children, Lynne (Jim) Conlin, Susan (Wayne) Gaskill, Tom Russell, Ron (Doris) Russell, Jane (Dennis) Sweaney, Jill (Gary) Caldwell, Jon (Vicky) Russell, and Mark (Kelly) Russell. They also have 19 grandchildren and 22 greatgrandchildren.

A family picnic celebration will be held on June 12th.
