The couple married on May 14, 1966 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Iowa City.
Rick and Phyllis have two daughters: Kelley (Alan) Gray of Marion, VA, and Randa (Tracy) Donohue of Algonquin, IL. Their grandchildren are: Aidan, Collin, and Lily Gray, and Olivia and Owen Donohue.
Phyllis is Professor at Coe College in Cedar Rapids. Rick is an Accountant specializing in small business.
