CEDAR RAPIDS - ­Donald E. and Mary Joan (Mary Jo) McAlister of Cedar Rapids will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary with an Open House on Sunday, October 11, 2009, from 2 to 4 p.m. at St. James United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.

The former Mary Joan McNeill and Donald E. McAlister were united in marriage on October 4, 1969, at St. James United Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids, with the Rev. Charles Wallace presiding.

The couples four children are: Patricia Williams of Stewartsville, NJ, Penny (Dan) Crespin of Aurora, CO, Glenn McAlister of Iowa City, IA, and Steven (Anita) Ferguson of Dixon, CA. They also have five grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren.
