Celebrate 65th Wedding Anniversary

On July 26th, 2015, surrounded by their

5 children, 5 daughters-in-law, 1 son-in-law,

10 of their 18 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and the loving memory of their

recently departed son Dana, Russell and

Delores Colton celebrated 65 unforgettable years together. Their very special celebration took place at the Cedar Rapids Country Club.

Originally high school sweethearts, the couple was married at Sinclair Memorial Church in

Cedar Rapids on August 13th, 1950 by

Russell's father, the Reverend Ralph Colton.

As their family quickly grew, education, military service and work took them from Iowa City to

Biloxi, MS, and Evanston, IL, before bringing them back to Cedar Rapids, their home for the last 55 years.

Their boisterously joyous family life together has been well-documented through countless stories, on endless carousels of photographic slides, and especially in their home of almost 50 years - a big welcoming house overflowing with memories, keepsakes and love.
