Baxter 75th Anniversary

Eugene and Vern Ann (Hering) Baxter were married on August 22, 1936 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Davenport, IA.

They have lived in Cedar Rapids since the fall of 1938 when Gene opened a Chrysler - Plymouth dealership, naming it Baxter Motors, Inc.

They are the parents of three children, Bill of Cedar Rapids, Ric of Marion, IA, and Babs (Jerry) Thomson of Ryan, IA. Their grandchildren are R.J. (Lynn Marie) Baxter of Evergreen, CO, and Melissa (John) Jackovin of Johnston, IA. Their great-grandchildren are Olivia and Emma Jackovin, and Chase and Ava Baxter.

A celebration of their long marriage and wonderful life together was held on Saturday, August 13, hosted by their children and grandchildren.
