Leo (Tom) Lowder and Sondra Jo Primmer (Lowder) celebrate 60 years of marriage on June 2nd.

They met at the Green Giant canning factory in Vinton, IA, in 1954. He was 19 and she was 16 and still in high school, and it was love at first sight. She finished high school in 1956 and they came to Cedar Rapids and were married at St. Paul's Methodist Church on June 2, 1956. They followed that up with three children, Lezlie, Stacey and Todd. They in turn gave us six grandchildren, and they gave four

great-grandchildren, plus one cookin' in the oven. Tom worked for FMC for 27 years and retired from Methwick. Sondra worked for Allis-Chalmers, Answer Iowa, Ellis CC and retired from MCI. They also bought and managed the Orange Julius store at Westdale for 15 years.

Cards are welcome at 1901 Williams Blvd. SW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52404. There will be a family picnic later this summer.
