CEDAR RAPIDS — The New Bohemian Innovation Collaborative on Nov. 15 hosted teachers, volunteers, community leaders, students, small business owners, entrepreneurs and innovators at the Olympic South Side Theater for its annual meeting.
Following a presentation by Debi Durham, Iowa Economic Development Authority director, NewBoCo shared updates from its Kiva Iowa program, K-12 education and DeltaV Code School, among its other initiatives.
The evening also introduced NewBoCo’s Community Partnerships, which brings NewBoCo’s programs to communities such as Mason City, Mount Pleasant, and Council Bluffs.
“This event really highlights all of the collaborative partnerships we have, and when we get all of those people together in one room, it helps us clarify a better vision for Iowa” NewBoCo Chief Operating Officer Jill Wilkins said.
“Inevitably people say, ‘I had no idea NewBoCo did all of that’ after the event,’” NewBoCo Executive Director Aaron Horn said. “That’s my opportunity to tell them how they can partner with us to do even more next year.”
