McCaffery: Oglesby has shot to play at Iowa State
Dec. 9, 2013 8:34 am
IOWA CITY -- Iowa junior Josh Oglesby is likely to return for the Hawkeyes' final non-conference game against Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Dec. 22 , Coach Fran McCaffery said Monday morning.
Oglesby, a 6-foot-6 shooting guard, suffered a broken fifth metatarsal in his right foot in practice on Nov. 6. He had surgery on Nov. 8.
"I'd be surprised if he wasn't ready for Pine Bluff," Iowa Coach Fran McCaffery said. "There's an outside shot for Friday night (at Iowa State), but that might be pushing it."
Oglesby, a Cedar Rapids Washington graduate, has played in 72 games with seven starts at Iowa. He has averaged 5.4 points a game.
The No. 23 Hawkeyes (9-1) play host to Farleigh Dickinson (3-8) at 6 tonight (BTN). As for the team's health outside of Oglesby, McCaffery said, "Everybody's good. Josh is getting closer. But other than Josh, everybody's good."
