Check out this announcement from Parade magazine. Kennedy High School's "Happiness, Inc." was voted America's favorite show choir of 2011.
This is the second year Parade has searched for America's Favorite Show Choir.
“‘Happiness, Inc.' is honored to have been voted America's Favorite Show Choir by the readers of Parade,” show choir director Storm Ziegler said in a news release. “The incredible talent of the groups nominated for the award makes this recognition all the more meaningful to the students, parents, and staff who work so hard to put together a ‘Happiness, Inc.' show.”
“Happiness, Inc.” first formed in the fall of 1967. Ziegler told Parade that the group focuses on high quality productions and entertaining shows that dazzle the audience.
“We would like to thank Parade for helping show America what real show choir is all about through this award,” Ziegler said.
Second place goes to Touch of Class from Chantilly High School in Chantilly, Va., and in third place is Enterprise Starship from Enterprise High School in Redding, Calif.
“Happiness, Inc.” was one of 12 finalists, announced last week. The winning show choir was determined by online votes. This year's contest received nearly 20,000 votes.
