Deanie Young, 78, of Solon, died Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at the Solon Care Center. A private family service will be held at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Following the continued guidance from health officials, physical distancing must be practiced, which requires a limited number of people allowed into the visitation at one time. The use of face masks or shields is required.
Survivors include her husband, Larry; a daughter, Stacey Young-Long (Thad) of Bondurant; and three sons, Todd (Jenny) of Minot, N.D., Chad and Benjamin (Karolina), all of Solon. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, Tory, Quinn, Lincoln, Elly, Louis, Simon, Ivan, Avery, Wyatt, Miley, James, Devin and Gracie; and three great-grandchildren, Carter, Camdyn and Hazelynn.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Bernie Beranek.
Deanie was born Jan. 29, 1943, in Cedar Rapids the daughter of Fred and Carrie (Zach) Beranek. She married Larry A. Young on May 16, 1964, in Cedar Rapids.
Deanie was a very talented floral designer. She owned and operated Catnip Meadows Floral Shop with her daughter Stacey in Solon.
Deanie was a member of the Solon Women's Club and the Johnson County Master Gardeners. She will forever be remembered as a wonderful and caring wife, mother grandmother and friend whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
